Our Partnerships

In northern Manitoba, the need for accessible mental health services has led to the development of vital partnerships aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by residents.
Many individuals from these communities struggle with long wait times for public health services, the costs of private therapy, or a lack of relationship with practitioners from outside their familiar environment.
Galia Wellness Services seeks to bridge these gaps by providing private therapy at little to no cost, thanks to support from organizations dedicated to mental wellness.
By bringing services directly to communities, Galia Wellness Services is committed to ensuring that mental health support is both accessible and culturally relevant.

Wabowden Town Council

Wabowden Town Council was the first to partner with Galia Wellness Services, embracing the vision from the very beginning. Their support included donating office space and resources, providing letters of support, and passing an official policy resolution to help ensure services were available to their community as quickly as possible.

Expanding Access to Mental Health Care in the North

Galia Wellness Services is actively engaged in proposals and discussions with several Northern and Indigenous organizations to make licensed psychotherapy truly accessible and affordable for Northern residents. Our goal is to reach those who often fall through the cracks—individuals without medical coverage, those facing long waitlists, limited local resources, or a lack of trust in outside providers who aren’t rooted in their communities. Finances should never be a barrier to receiving quality mental health care. If your organization is interested in partnering with Galia Wellness Services to support this vital and meaningful work, we invite you to contact us to arrange a meeting. Together, we can create lasting, community-based solutions for mental wellness in the North.

The Galia Story

Galia Wellness Services was born from the intersection of deep personal struggle and an unwavering dream—one that slowly took shape over the course of twenty years. Its founder, Caroline Winship, grew up in Northern Manitoba and came to know intimately the painful lack of specialized mental health resources available in the region.

As she navigated her own journey through the effects of unresolved generational trauma and the wounds left by spiritual abuse at the hands of clergy, Caroline’s health began to deteriorate. She developed trauma-induced seizures—at times tonic-clonic (grand mal) in nature—that left her physically depleted and emotionally isolated. Despite trying a wide range of medications, therapies, and hospital stays, relief remained far out of reach. The added weight of stigma surrounding mental health made the search for support even more isolating.

Eventually, Caroline was told her only option for effective trauma-informed care was located eight hours away in Winnipeg. The emotional and financial strain of the monthly journey took a devastating toll, and her mental health reached a breaking point.

It was in that dark and lonely place—when the suffering felt unbearable—that a promise and a name were revealed to her in a dream. During sleep, and even at the peak of her seizures when she was only semi-conscious, she repeatedly heard the phrase,

“The Creator shall redeem.” It was in that sacred moment that a name was also given: Galia. In Hebrew, Galia means both “God shall redeem” and “Wave of God.”

Given her history of spiritual trauma, it was difficult for Caroline to embrace this truth. But over time, she came to understand that her suffering wasn’t meaningless—it was a preparation. Her lived experience, both as a young person and as an adult, gave her a depth of empathy and insight that would become the foundation of her calling. Through a combination of diet, medication, spiritual awakening, and access to proper trauma therapy, she found full and lasting healing.

She then felt a clear call to walk alongside others on their own path to wholeness.

With renewed strength, Caroline pursued graduate studies in Counselling, earning her Master of Counselling degree in 2025.

Galia Wellness Services was officially born shortly thereafter—rooted in her own redemption story and built on the belief that healing is possible. Today, Galia stands as a beacon of hope for those in Northern communities who feel forgotten or overlooked by mainstream mental health systems.

It is both a promise fulfilled and a wave of change.
